By Markisflippinsweet , June 12, in Logic Pro. This, the error withstood the restart, and persisted. Thankfully, the error only shows itself when in playback in Logic itself. So it bounces just fine. Once it hits the error, the audio sounds distorted, or plays back slow; or plays back slow with distortion. Each appearance of it in the project has a different number to identify itself.

I have attached a screen shot, so it may be easily recognized. The whole project is all MIDI, except for one, three second audio region. It began happening after finishing the plugins for the floor tom I was adding inserts to. Mid MacBook Pro, 2. Any third party plug-ins in this ton-of-plug-ins? If so, do you get the same results in a project that does not use any of these third party plug-ins?

Mac mini 3. Mostly all third party. Nothing else running. I think I\’d get the same results if I added enough of Logic\’s plug-ins. So it must be a modified overload, or something. Any ideas on how to fix it? Try to get the same behavior using only Logic plug-ins and if the problem persists then we could try other ideas. By modified overload, I mean like a different form of it. Because it\’s responding as though it is being overloaded, kind of. The track was originally a mono track, and I chose the mono to stereo version of the plug-in.

Is that probably what\’s messing it up? Now this track also seems to be stereo only, and cannot convert it back to mono with exception of mono channel 1 and 2. It seems as though it is not the mono to stereo conversion, but just the plug-in itself. I just got the same response on a different strip of Ultrabeat, using a mono Waves plug-in, on a mono track, from the same instance of the multi output Ultrabeat.

My new Logic Pro Book is out! I tried that, and didn\’t get any change there. I changed to 64 bit, and it seems to be going alright It\’s came back earlier, and went about 20 minutes ago.

I guess that\’s what they must mean by \”external device,\” because the project is being read from internal storage that is, if it can tell. What I have now done, is went through the best I could at all times, and use inserts on each needed area, as I would normally.

Since this was a multi output Ultrabeat instance, I couldn\’t freeze it. Thus, I bounced in place using normalizing on, seeing as it\’s temporary, and I don\’t feel like leveling it back out for no red. Yay for that. I guess I got the issue pretty much solved, unless someone can chime in with a workaround the error. I think what I just said is about the only solution I can see for multi output instruments. As you said, Erik, freezing would probably the best way to remove the them for a normal, stereo output.

No, it doesn\’t alter the sound in any way. What it does do is that in FAST mode it keeps streaming the audio from the track, so unmuting and muting can be immediate. Thanks a lot, Erik! That saved me some time, as I would have went back and forth quite a bit, trying to decide and probably would have heard things in my head. You can post now and register later.

Now this track also seems to be stereo only, and cannot convert it back to mono with exception of mono channel 1 and 2 The routing is coming from Ultrabeat channel Markisflippinsweet Posted June 13, Posted June 13, So I guess that it\’s just a matter of various plug-ins just aren\’t meant to be, apparently.

David Nahmani Posted June 14, Posted June 14, Mark, I wonder if this could be a buffer issue. Like or ? Markisflippinsweet Posted June 14, Eriksimon Posted June 14, How about your Process Buffer Range? Setting it to Large might help. Why did the chicken cross the Mobius ring? I\’ve always regarded those as \”alternative\” overload messages. I get them with Albino, mainly. In my experience they are always associated with 3rd party instruments, not Logics\’ own.

Maybe that\’s what\’s meant by \”external device\”. Can\’t remember seeing anyone on the Logic fora who indeed had a problem with an actual external device; it\’s almost always a 3rd party plugin.

Alternative is the word I was looking for, not modified. So, more clarity on my previous posts. Markisflippinsweet Posted June 15, Posted June 15, Join the conversation You can post now and register later. Reply to this topic Insert image from URL.

Jun 15,  · Once it hits the error, the audio sounds distorted, or plays back slow; or plays back slow with distortion. Each appearance of it in the project has a different number to identify itself. I have attached a screen shot, so it may be easily recognized. Jul 23,  · Short answer: Your system doesn\’t have the processing power to support kHz sample rate for the amp designer plugins. There might be other plugins that won\’t work either. The way I figured this out is by changing the buffer size. Click on Logic Pro X -> Preferences -> Audio. Look for I/O Buffer Size. May 12,  · It doesn\’t work when recording audio. The manual is plain wrong about this. You\’ll have to resort to creating a new track for your recordings and muting/deleting the bits and pieces on the original track that you don\’t want to hear. Well, here’s how to change the sample rate in mid-session: Open the Audio window. Select all the audio files; Pull down the Audio File menu and select Copy/Convert File(s) Change the Sample Rate to desired rate. Save the files. Change the sample rate in Logic to match the sample rate you chose. You should be good to go. It doesn’t get much easier!
